Phase 2 Tawke Recycle Gas Injection Project – North Iraq – 2022
Tawke is a producing conventional oil field located onshore Iraq and is operated by DNO, the 2nd phase of the expansion project to boost production is now underway.
Blue Bell Shipping first participated in the Phase I expansion whereby over 10,000cbm of cargo and many heavy-lift units were transported from Canada, the USA and Romania to site. During this period, there was a severe shortage of traditional breakbulk/multi-purpose vessels, so the BBS team completed a feasibility study and were consequently able to moving heavy lift cargo from Europe by road.
From early 2022, the Phase II expansion took place and Blue Bell Shipping was once again awarded the complete scope of work from one of the EPCs and also supported the oilfield operator directly with many shipments. This project is still ongoing but currently we estimate over 12,000cbm and x65 shipments of cargo have been moved. This includes multiple vessel charters, containers and airfreight consignments.
Below are some images of a few key pieces of cargo moved either as traditional breakbulk, breakbulk on container vessels or on out of gauge flat racks. This includes skids, compressors and LED units which were shipped from various international origins to North Iraq via Turkey.
